Avik is pioneer in manufacturing Steroids in India. Avik's manufacturing facilities are located near Mumbai in special Gujarat Industrial Development Zone, Vapi, Gujarat State, India.

1979 – 1990

Foundation of Innovation

Founded in 1979, laying the foundation for strong manufacturing capabilities. Between 1984–1985, became the first manufacturer after GSK to produce Clobetasol Propionate, Betamethasone Dipropionate, and Betamethasone Valerate — marking our first major breakthrough in corticosteroids.

1991 – 2005

Growth and Partnerships

Became a Limited Company (1991) and expanded market presence through strategic partnerships, including a joint venture with IPCA (2005).

2006 – 2009

Quality and Compliance

Achieved Schedule-M compliance (2006) and received WHO GMP certification (2009).

2010 – 2014

Global Certifications

Gained multiple lifetime-valid CEP certifications for Mometasone Furoate, Clobetasol Propionate, and Beclomethasone Dipropionate. Secured State GMP approval.

2015 – 2018

Expanding Horizons

Expanded regulatory approvals with CEP for Budesonide, 1st EU GMP (EDQM & Swiss medic) andentry into new international markets.

2019 – 2021

Strengthening Global Reach

Received Mexican approval, CEP for Clobetasone Butyrate and Triamcinolone Acetonide. Strengthened product portfolio for global reach.

2022 – 2023

European Market Expansion

Obtained CEP for Mometasone Furoate Monohydrate, 2nd EU GMP (EDQM & Hungary) – reinforcing European market presence.

2024 – 2025

Global Recognition and Regulatory Excellence

Achieved ANVISA approval & CBPF publication for 12 APIs. Received CEP for Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate, valid till 2030.

Under her leadership, Avik has strengthened its position as a compliant manufacturer of corticosteroids. Inspired by a family legacy rooted in pharma innovation, Neha combines strategic foresight with a commitment to quality and global standards. Also serving as Vice Chairperson of the IDMA API Committee, she continues to drive Avik toward sustained growth and industry excellence.

Anant Thakore

Founder

Mr. Anant Thakore, a law graduate, entered the pharma industry during the License Raj era and played a pivotal role in shaping pro-industry policies. As IDMA President, he promoted globalization by encouraging Indian API manufacturers to engage in international trade. He grew his business into a diversified group and has mentored many across the sector. In recognition of his contributions, IDMA honoured him as "Chief Mentor of the Year" in 2016.
